…is a return to form for the Coens, which is to say it’s an excellent movie, but is at the same time completely different in tone than almost any other movie they have made. This movie affected me, and I really recommend it. Unique, suprising, original, yet using standard genre conventions so it feels familiar in many ways. The greatest accomplishments of the film are the character of Chigurh (played by Javier Bardem), the breathtaking cinematography by the incomparable Roger Deakins, and the momentum and efficiency of the script.

This movie is unsettling and deliberate… and for most viewers, I would imagine, unsatisfying. But I can’t think of a movie that I’ve seen in the last year that I would recommend more. Go see this movie.

For those of you who have not seen the adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s book “Choke”, see it now before it leaves the theaters. In my opinion it was a great adaptation that was true to the spirit and the tone of the book. Now, true, there is some humor in the movie and rather than making you feel disgusted at Victor they make you nervously laugh along, but this was a great add on to the story.

This week, the NHL 08-09 season kicks off in full swing, after last weekend’s four games staged in Europe. As a hockey fiend and proud new owner of Washington Capitals season tickets, I am bouncing with excitement. Yes, the Stanley Cup Finals only ended in June (yes, it was June and there was still hockey!!!!@~), but three months is way more of a break than I ever need.

Alexander Ovechkin is pumped, aren’t you??

Hey everybody. After our normal 45 days of letting the software developers work out some of the kinks, Plesk 8.6 is finally ready to rock. The upgrade will happen during one of the evenings this weekend (sorry for not being specific) after 1:00am EDT. It will probably last 3-4 hours if anything like the past upgrades so, if it’s down for a little bit in the middle of the night, it’s cool. We’re just making stuff better for you!

At the moment, every single member of the logjamming staff will now be doing support. Gone are the days of “Brian touches the servers, Josh & Pat talk to the clients, Welch handles the billing, & Chris writes the code”. Now, you’ll get to talk to each and every one of us (though, we can’t promise you’ll talk to a specific someone). If you’ve got any questions about it, just drop us a line: support@logjamming.com or check out our support site: http://support.logjamming.com!

Today The Washington Post reports that the nation’s capital has struck a deal with Verizon to bring their blazing-fast FiOS internet and tv service to it. This is exciting news given that the federal government had previously been requiring Verizon to lease ALL of their unused fiber to the government for their use. Looking forward to mind-bogglingly fast internet, but also hoping the TV service is good enough to compete with Comcast’s offerings. Comcast has had a stranglehold on the DC cable market and this new competition gives me hope that we might be able to dump our $200/mo cable bills soon!

So Chris and I talked a bit more tonight about domain registrations and how we’re going to add that feature to our billing software. Trick is, it’s going to be a lot of coding so it may be a but. We promise that we’re hauling ass trying to get stuff working asap.
